Elisa Teglia was born in Bologna in 1978. She studied organ in Italy and in 2002 obtained the diploma for “Organ and Organ composition”. In 2004 she obtained the soloist diploma for organ with a very good result in Ben van Oosten’s class, at the Conservatory of Rotterdam (NL). Afterwards, she began a collaboration with CodArts Research (Rotterdam) and she studied ancient music and improvisation at the Conservatory “Bruno Maderna” of Cesena (I).

She has also studied with teachers as T. van Eck, J. Verdin, D. Roth, K. Lueders, N. Hakim, Z. Szathmary,... In 2001-2002 she attended in Cremona (I) an improvisation course with Stefano Rattini.

She won some prizes at international organ competitions, as the third prize at the XXVI edition of the “Concorso Organistico Internazionale “Valentino Bucchi” di Roma” and the first prize at the fifth “Concorso Organistico Nazionale “Goffredo Giarda” di Roma”.

 

She has been rapporteur of seminars organized by Paris IV and of various International Meetings in Italy, Germany, England, Belgium and France. She has written many articles of musicology for italian, french and german reviews; from 2001 to 2007 she has teached harmony at the Department of Musicology of Bologna. She teached Organ at the Conservatories of Frosinone and Cuneo: actually she is organ teacher at the Conservatory of Reggio Calabria.

In Bologna she is organist at “basilica of Sant’Antonio da Padova”, where she is also “maestro sostituto” of the polyphonic choir “Fabio da Bologna”.

Since 2005 she is artistic director of the organ festival “Musica all’Annunziata” of Bologna. She has recorded CDs for Videoradio (Milan), Mascioni (I), Institut Gouvy (F) and DiPaSt (University of Bologna, I). Besides, in 2001 she graduated in Musicology “cum laude” in Bologna with a dissertation over “Théodore Dubois and the french romantic organ”.

In 2002 she obtained the master’s degree “Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies” with the best results in the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV); in June 2005 she concludes “cum laude” a doctorate in History of Music and Musicology by the Universities of Paris IV and Bologna.
